An iffy start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the United boys, says Denis Irwin
Denis Irwin, an iconic and well-respected former Manchester United footballer, expresses his concerns and says the Red Devils may not be able to keep up with their fine form when the EPL starts again.
Before football came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic in March, Manchester United has succeeded in 11 matches. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, manager of Manchester United, has moved the team up in the Premier League table to the fifth spot. He also got them through the FA Cup quarter-finals and bagged a remarkable win of 5-0 after their first leg of the Europa League last-16 tie against Linzer Athletik Sport Klub (LASK).
There are many optimistic predictions about Manchester United taking the lead when they go head to head with Tottenham. However, Irwin is wary of the resumption, because the boys have not played a competitive game for more than three months.
Irwin mentions there will be strange results because the resumption will feel just like the start of a new season. He believes it will not be easy, but keeping going is the key.
He further adds that the resumption is like going into the unknown. Irwin thinks the game against the Spurs will be a big game for Manchester United and hopes the club can continue from where they left off as much as they can.
Irwin believes winning the match against Tottenham will give Manchester United a confidence boost. He looks forward to the Premier League and football in general, making a comeback. He is also excited about the UEFA Championships.

Jose Mourinho Preps for the Premier League
Before the resumption of the Premier League, Tottenham has had an in-house match among themselves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. There was also a two-hour match with Norwich City.
Mourinho wanted to arrange a few more friendlies, but after learning that one of the Norwich players and two from Reading were tested positive for COVID-19, he figured it was not worth the risks.
However, getting back into action isn’t as easy as it seems. Tottenham faces five issues that may interfere with their Championships qualification.
1) Getting the squad back on track
One of Mourinho’s top priorities now is to get the squad back on track to qualify for Champions League football next season.
Having completed six games without any wins, beating Aston Villa 3-2 on February 16 was the only win before the suspension. The rest of the matches were underwhelming, which had also cost them qualification for the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Tottenham ranks 8th in the EPL table.
2) Tanguy Ndombele needs to redeem himself
Mourinho was very disappointed with the midfielder on his contributions during the first half of the 1-1 draw with Burnley. Ndombele was then replaced at the interval and was not featured until three days later when Tottenham became disqualified for the Champions League for losing to RB Leipzig.
Will Ndombele redeem himself once he gets back out there? It’s looking quite gloomy with Mourinho singing the praises for Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks.
3) No sane without Kane
Harry Kane, the star striker for Tottenham Hotspur, was transparent with his answers in an Instagram interview with Jamie Redknapp, saying that he will not stay at the club if he finds the club not going in the right direction.
Should Kane leaves, he would have no problem hopping onto another club, since there is no shortage of suitors. Mourinho needs to do his best to make sure Kane does not exit the team.
4) Stepping up their away games
Tottenham’s overall form is not in tip-top condition, and their performance for their away games have not been ideal as well.
They have only scored 15 points from all of their away games. In the league, the boys have managed three wins away from home all season, with Southampton, Crystal Palace and Burnley boasting better records.
If they can out win Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace, it would do them good.
5) Getting defensives that can defend
Mourinho has coached many teams before, one being Manchester United. Under his watch, all of these clubs were strong at their defensives.
However, when he started coaching Tottenham in November last year, the club has been anything but defending. For all it’s worth, Tottenham only has three clean sheets in 26 games thus far. Even Belgium star defenders Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are not pulling through.
Ben Davies is injured, while Serge Aurier cannot be relied upon at the back even though he is effective going forward.
Mourinho has a lot to do in making sure he places his best defenders to good use before the Premier League takes place.

Tottenham VS Manchester United Prediction
The match between Tottenham and Manchester United is a tough one to predict.
With Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba returning to the game after recuperating, and Bruno Fernandes playing as a midfielder, Manchester United seems set for the game.
Tottenham is not doing badly too. With Harry Kane playing in the side again, alongside other key players such as Son Heung-Min, Steven Bergwijn, and Moussa Sissoko. Dele Alli will not be participating due to the one-match ban for making a racially insensitive joke about coronavirus.
With the return of key players for both teams, Tottenham and Manchester United are seemingly ready to score goals. However, there will be five substitutes this time round, and the Red Devils appear to have stronger ones standing by. This can come in handy when players on action become fatigued.
On that premise, Manchester United may have the upper hand, with a 2-1 win.
